Since posting my horn mouthpiece directory last week I’ve received lots of great suggestions to add to the list. Some of them I was aware of and forgot to include, while others were completely new to me. Thanks again to everyone who contributed! Based on the traffic for this particular post it would seem that lots of horn players are interested in the subject of mouthpieces – not surprising!
For the next part of this project I’ve put together a very brief survey on the kinds of mouthpieces horn players are using today. Just click the link below to complete the questionnaire, which should take between 5 and 10 minutes. The survey will remain open for at least the next month, with results to follow. Here are a few important points to note before you take the survey.
- All responses are anonymous.
- Your experience level and occupation as a horn player don’t matter. In fact, the more diverse the group, the better!
- The point of such a survey is not to find the one “best” mouthpiece, or to show preference for one make or model over another. Rather, the goal is simply to gather and share information about the kinds of mouthpieces currently being used by a wide cross section of players.
- Thanks very much for your participation!

In closing, since this will most likely be my final post for this year, I want to wish all of my readers, friends, and colleagues a wonderful holiday season and a great start to 2014!
