James Boldin, Associate Professor of Music at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, has recorded a beautiful collection of works by Dutch composer Jan Koetsier…These are indeed enjoyable compositions to listen to. At times quirky and humorous, at other times bold and virtuosic, they are always quite tuneful and written in a harmonic style that, while interesting, is not overwhelmingly complex…James Boldin serves this music well, presenting the pieces as a collection and highlighting the interest and variety of such an excellent composer.
